The World is Flat By Thomas Friedman

The title is derived from a statement given by former CEO of Infosys.

In this book Friedman narrates his journey to Bangalore. His choice of Bangalore is quite significant as it's a melting pot for the work flow software including off-shore businesses and emerging trends in global businesses. Friedman argues that unlike previous bouts of globalization, this new wave of global integration is driven by MNCs.

Freidman keeps reiterating the impact of organizational devices to facilitate key concepts.

He has shed light on some of important phenomena of last few decades including Collapse of the Berlin war, introduction of Netscape, Impact and stretch of Outsourcing and off sourcing, the newer modes of communication devices such as mobile phones, iPod, and VoIP phones, analog. He has given many examples of Indian and Chinese companies that have become part of complex global supply chains. He also advocates the virtues of adaptability to western world especially American companies to avoid conflict arising because of the imminent impact of outsourcing and offshoring.
